Pissotte (*) that is!
And, lots of bikes.
(*) For those late to the party, there are many of these structures to be found in Venice. What are they? Read about it here: public-service-notice
I’m taking a break from blogging, but I’ll be lurking around the Reader to read what others are offering.
See you later!
How are you doing, Yvonne?
How is your break going?
I miss your posts and photos! So, I came by to drop off some hugs!
I only blog once a week…it’s all I have time to do right now.
(((HUGS))) and π ‘s! π

The break is good, but I do miss your hugs, and interacting with folks in the comments section. Maybe I’ll just do posts that only involve the comments section! π

What are you doing on your break, Yvonne? You are such a steady blogger. I seem to take more breaks than I blog! π Yikes!

Hi, Marsha. I’m not doing anything special, just needed to see whether I’d be able to give up blogging!

HAHAHAHAHA ok let me repeat that, HAHAHAHAHAHA. So besides giving up blogging for a while, what are you doing? Want to read my new 2,500 word e-book give away and give me some feedback on it? I’m doing it as part of a blogging class I’m taking. π Love you, and your blogging.

I was wondering if the pissotes were only for men but I recalled that in the far past women peed being stood up too . My wife and I remember how our own grandmothers did this when they were outside far from facilities! π

I’m rather glad we don’t have to do that anymore. I guess they didn’t wear knickers in those days. π

I have no idea why I am jumping in here….but this popped up on my morning reading of various comments. There is a little plastic device (I have one) called a “she-wee” that makes it easy for a person of the feminine persuasion to create a spray that arcs away from the body just as a person of the masculine persuasion is able to do naturally. It’s used by hikers, campers, travelers of all sorts, as well as enterprising elderly who have trouble with the too-low seats in public lavatories. It works okay with trousers, but it’s best if there’s a fly. Just sayin’

Now, if they could only do away with the remorseless queues for women’s loos …

I think they could have called it “Pee-you”. That sounds better when said aloud.

But “she-wee” is so onomatopoeitic!

I can’t argue with that!

I hope your break is going well. A friend told me that my horoscope said that today “You need a break. Go get a massage.” ETC. I thought that was funny. π
HUGS!!! π And thanks for commenting my Sock post! π

That pissotte looks like it could be for a giantβ¦..mamma mia…

It’s been hanging around 40 degrees Celsius for a few days, so sloth is really winning the day.
The pissotta looks like it’s for a mob of blokes!

I went around in a circle trying to find out what they actually are. (From this post, to the linked post, to Google when the linked post told me nothing, back to this post from Google’s helpful suggestions.) Then I decided they’re exactly what they sound like if you don’t pronounce your t’s properly. I can think of a few local corners that could use one.

Uffa! Sorry about that. They are supposedly to stop blokes from piddling in corners, MoSY. π

Oh, those Italians! I did eventually work it out (after more googling). If we had them in Oz (and I wish we did) we’d probably call them pissoffs. π
