Down a little calle in Dorsoduro

You never know what treasures you’ll find peeking back at you.

This isn’t far from Chiesa Salute, heading back towards the Accademia Bridge.

It seems that some little bird has found a place to build a nest

This is not from Venice, but from Vancouver Island, Canada.

Thank you, Rick

I hope Pam D might read this. “Summertime” is set all over Venice, but the Pensione where June (KH) stays is in Dorsoduro most of the time, though the sign was in San Marco! See http://aloverofvenice.com/summertime/Summertime.htm for further details.

      • Sorry, I can’t tell you where you might buy a pendant with the lion on it. I guess it depends on your budget; either a jeweler or a good souvenir shop. You’ll find plenty of either all around the city.

    • People ask what there is to do and see in Venice for 1,2,3 days. It would break my heart to only be able to spend such a short time there, so I count my blessings, and am happy to share. 🙂

  4. One of the many things I love about our beloved Venezia….always something interesting just around the corner or down the calle.
And you know me….butterflies are my favorite…after cats that is.

That second little cherub looks very uncomfortable. Do you think he started life somewhere in a more vertical position? i.e. sitting rather than reclining.

    • Could very well be, Andrew. And, I need to look more closely at his right hand next time. There’s always something else to check on, thank goodness! (Hmm, there’s site on Facebook that is using an image VERY like the one in the second photo.)

  8. Hi, Joanne, and thanks for your nice words. I love the image of butterflies carrying little lunch boxes. They could swap their lunches if their mom had packed something they didn’t like. 🙂
