Up on a cliff top

I like this chipper little busy bee shopping list.

There are no problem deciphering this one.

Thank you to the host of this blog.

The Shopping Lists - A Collection of Found Shopping Lists

I found this list by a bench high up on a cliff on the Dorset coast.

There was a scrap of folded paper laying on the ground which I opened up and low and behold it was a shopping list.

It is a rather short shopping list. Maybe breakfast essentials for some holiday makers in the area.

Blue biro, roughly torn and folded into four.

“Blue biro, roughly torn and folded into four.” Biro has become an everyday word, like ‘hoover’. Aspirin is another. Jacuzzi, one more. O tempora, o mores! I use a Bic, a Dyson, chew willow bark, and I don’t take baths outside.

  2. Let’s hope they bring home the bacon. I need to take a written list because as sure as eggs I’ll forget two of the two things not written down. Yesterday I drove the 20 minutes to town to get a roasted chicken and came home with just buns and cat food. (P.S. Cat food is what the women call my wine when I get it – as I always say “It’s for the alcoholic cat”).

  3. The bee is bee-ooh-tiful! A smile-bringer! 🙂 A very short, but important list! 🙂

There is a Christmas movie from the 1980’s where a little kid goes shopping by himself and when his surprised family finds out they say, “You? Shopping? What did you buy?” He says, “The eggs, the milk, the fabric softener…” So whenever we hear someone say “eggs”…we say (trying to mimic/impersonate him) “the eggs, the milk, the fabric softener”…Okay, it’s probably not humorous unless you’re related to me. Ha! 😀

    (((HUGS))) 🙂

  5. At least if the list writer lost their list they should be able to remember what was on it.

  6. Maybe everything else is hoarded already.
Maybe they can’t afford stuff beyond those.

  7. Oh Yvonne, what a delightful thing you created with your shopping lists. This one is so brilliant because it is so brief and the bee takes over so much of the story.
