Now, this lady knows how to give me a warm fuzzy! (How many of you remember that term?) And now I know what schmaltz is.
Thank you, Gretchen, for doing the right thing when you spotted this list.
Hello, I always love to see what you post, so when I saw this in the cart at my Jewel market, I brought it home. The first item should be ‘Swiffers’. And not sure if that’s ‘beets’ or ‘beer’. Lastly, I shop there all the time but no idea where to find schmaltz. Best wishes from Chicago. — Gretchen
Can someone give us the recipe for matzo balls?
this is a fun list to find and share
and i am still hunting for some more to send your way!

and the matzo balls we made – were very easy – the box we bought in Kodher section had the meal and the oil added and we added egg and water and rolled into balls – good for soups and healthier than whole wheat glue (i guess) but now i only use almond flour for almost everything and maybe coconut flour or cassava flour once in a while

Swiffers come in dry or wet…to clean floors…and dry ones to dust. 🙂
Floor cleaning AND matzo balls sounds like a wild day! 😉 😀 Count me in! 😛
Great list! 🙂

So how does this Swiffers thing work? Do you attach them to a mop head, or get down on hands and knees?

This website shows what they have available…there are “fancy” “mop-poles” and extender-dusters dohickees, etc. then you put the large “wipe-like” thingees on them. Ha. Sorry for my technical language.

Thank you! Currently I just use a mop with a little water container that squirts a spray when you pull on the handle. I use warm tap water, or a touch of manufactured floor cleaner, or just plain old white vinegar.
I’ve found white vinegar and bicarbonate of soda cleans just about everything in the house. If reserves are called for, there is always lemon juice 🙂

The ways you clean and with what you clean is wonderful, Gwendoline! 🙂 Back in The Dark Ages my mom taught us kids to clean with vinegar and water! Just had a memory of washing windows with water, vinegar, and newspaper. 🙂
OOH, and always love the smell of lemon-anything! 🙂

I think Gwendoline nailed it. The recipe for Matzos is pretty much written right there. And the beets could be for the soup.

This looks like one of those lists when you’ve been shopping a few days before and then realised you forgot a few important things.

Passover is coming up. I guess the Swifters is for making sure all the cooking surfaces are correctly Kosher cleaned. Nance’s is a brand name I see. Now … what do you get when you combine Matzo meal, beets, eggs and mustard, and fry the balls in chicken fat?

I guess that’s matzo balls?

I guess – but beetroot? oh hang on, maybe it means silverbeet.

Almost definitely ‘BEETS’. The ‘S’ is identical to the one above in ‘EGGS’. Gretchen was right, it’s ‘SWIFFERS’

Recipe probably requires chicken fat.

Swifters are like large wipes for the floor.
