Weight Watchers recipe cards, circa 1970

Thanks, BoB.

I wish I seen this at the beginning of social isolation; I might still fit into my clothes.

  2. Frankfurter Spectacular takes the cake IMHO.

Yvonne, these are without a doubt the least appealing food (and I use the term loosely) photographs since the Middle Ages.

On reflection, perhaps fluffy mackerel pudding !!!! Or Inspiration soup (which reminds me of a fresh cow pat) are definitely contenders for most revolting.

I’m betting that they are successful for weight watchers because they would put one off eating forever.

  3. How are you doing, Yvonne?
Just stopping by to leave some ❀ and (((HUGS))) πŸ™‚

  4. HA! A feast for the eyes AND the tummy! πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜€
Fish Balls…no thanks! (I prefer my fish ball-less!)
    HUGS!!! πŸ˜›

  5. My, hasn’t the stylist made that bean and mushroom salad look irresistible? And I wonder what was in those “snack on a stick”. Almost looks like chocolate. My girlfriend went through a stage of home party selling where you could buy chocolate moulds in the shape of male appendages. The d – – – on a stick style was always in demand.

  6. Oh, Yvonne, I laughed through most of these. Some were alarming (the tomato ones in brandy snifters looked like intestines) and there were so many SHAPES. I remember fellow molds and something called tomato aspic from the 70s, but … thankfully, nobody cooks like that now.

  7. These do not look appetising at all, so if you were basing your Covid iso diet on them you’d be sure to lose weight. πŸ™‚ Who knew mackerel could be served so many different ways.

  8. The aesthetic of 1970s food was so strange…

  9. Have you tried any of them?

  10. Bert

It seems that there is one, but it costs $2.

  12. Having the same problem here too, definitely need to start the diet.
I like the sound of the casseroles, today though it’s chicken soup! πŸ™‚

  13. It would be fun to have a “Tasteless Dinner” – paper plates, plastic cutlery, fine wine drunk out of jam jars. And serve up Fish Balls, Hot Wrap Ups, and Frankfarter Spectacular.

  14. No 10 salmon mousse. Absolutely never ever ever. But a lot of the others look very tasty.
