Our lives have surely changed in the last few weeks.
I just haven’t felt like doing any posting, so I hope you forgive me. Especially you, Sue. The lists you sent are still sitting in draft form, waiting for me to get some enthusiasm!
I live in a semi-rural area, so it is easy to slip out the door and go for a walk. The leaves are beginning to don their autumnal colours; they looked very beautiful in the morning sunshine. These are from a tulip tree Liriodendron tulipefera.
I looked for the origin of that botanical name, and found this: the botanical name Liriodendron tulipifera originates from Greek: Liriodendron, which means lilytree, and tulipifera which means “bringing forth tulips”, alluding to the resemblance of its flowers to a tulip.

Glad you could get out for a walk. When I was a child, I thought the leaves of tulip trees looked like cat faces. I have so many lists now. I should send you some once you catch up.

I’ve thought of you every week for the past few when I’ve made my little grocery list and let someone else shop for me.
Still trying to live life with abandon**, just doing it indoors or in my backyard or on late-night/early morning walks with Coops.

it’s nice of someone to do the shopping for you, but won’t it be wonderful when you can go and do that for yourself again!
Heck, I had a mind’s eye view of you doing all sorts of wild things, with gay abandon. 🙂 But, your version is a good one, also.

In Turkey, we often asked our guide what the plants were. He always knew. Later he confessed that he didn’t have a clue and just said the same Latin name every time/

Our autumn and winter skies are an unbelievable blue. It’s nice to love in a part of the country where there are 4 seasons again, that didn’t happen in Queensland.

Beautiful photo, Y. I’m glad you’re getting out for walks. I’ve been walking every day, encountering nary a soul most days. My neighbor, her husband, and I have agreed to isolate as a unit. This way, I have someone to share a meal with, etc. Other than walking, I haven’t been out of the house for 14 days, nor had any social contact. I did attend a festive cocktail party through FaceTime though! We are living in strange times, hopefully you’ll feel like blogging again soon, and I’ll feel like dusting and vacuuming!

That is such a good idea to share the isolation with your neighbours. With your recent loss of that wonderful man, it would have been so lonely for you. How are the cats doing?

The cats are fine, a bit more clingy these days. They are doing better than me, I miss him so much. For these last 4 1/2 years, every day he was my focus. He was so strong and brave, he never lashed out at me or his health care providers. He always had an attitude of gratitude. I was able to keep him at home. He wanted that. Y, I never minded caring for him for a single second. No matter how tough things got, it was a privilege. I would give anything to have him back by my side.

I have never given seafood market shopping much thought, but maybe they have ideas in their mind, if not written down. The shoppers, I mean, not the seafood.

My favorite tree – especially in Spring! I can understand the feeling of energeticless blogging. I thought everyone would be sitting locked and home and “doing the blogs” but mine seems to have wiltered off!

I didn’t know we had tulip trees in Australia! It must be deciduous by the look of the leaves. I’ve been feeling a bit the same with my blog and finding it hard to get my blogging mojo back. I need to make a start earlier in the day. Stay safe down there!

The falling leaves are an almighty nuisance, covering lawns and clogging drains.
Blogging just seemed too hard, so I admire those who are keeping it going.
It’s going to be interesting to see how long it takes us to get back into our usual behaviour, once this is over.

Last week was sunny and springlike here, but up north in Yorkshire the weekend changed to a winter chill and even snowed for a couple of minutes yesterday.

I feel so guilty, not yet using your lists. But, apparently Uma (comment above, or below, depends on the whim of WordPress), is happy for a break from the lists!
Autumn is the best season, the weather is more predictable, with cool nights, and sunny days.

I doubt if any of us will be picking up shopping lists in the near future, Joss’s advice to me was spot on. I’m not going anywhere near a shop or supermarket for the next few months and even when we get the all-clear I think disposable gloves will become my norm. I was bordering on paranoia about picking up germs from ATMs and trolleys even before the pandemic. Though shopping lists never occurred to me!

Another site says “Autumn colour is just like rain … when it comes it comes.”
The Bright Autumn festival was scheduled thus, but I don’t think it’ll happen:
“This year it takes place from Friday April 24, 2020 to Sunday May 3rd 2020”
