A very nice friend who lives in Melbourne sent this short, succinct list. She said “Someone is very particular about their milk, but grateful also.”
Lou and her husband Peter are to blame for me owning a cat. They were the folks I house sat for, and their two cats, Fletcher and Weaver, soon stole my heart. Both of those lovely cats are no longer with us. So, it may be safe for me to remind you of this scurrilous post with Fletcher as the main character. Fletcher
Lou and Peter are also very fond of Italy, and Venice in particular, so we have a few threads that hold us close. Thank you for entering my life, you nice people.

I went grapepicking in Crete in my younger days, living in with the owner. One of the goats was milked before dawn (through her back legs, I’ve got a photo somewhere), then it was heated, oven dried bread laced with raisins was dropped in it, and we had that for breakfast. The smell! Uggggh. But I like goats cheese. We’d start picking early so we could siesta under the olive trees at midday.

I’ve had goat milk once, I thought it was delicious. I love the little smiley face and the “please” at the bottom of the note.

I grew up having to milk cows early mornings and after school – no goats though. These days it’s impossible to buy milk that hasn’t been tampered with. That goes for most food. In fact, a loaf of bead has stuff put in it that is meant to stop me from having a thalidomide baby. Presumably a blue top to the goat’s milk means it’s had all the good stuff taken out of it.

In one city in Italy, you can take an empty vessel and get raw milk dispensed. Our health and safety people would have a blue fit over that.
I think you’re sort of right about the blue top. Here, the different colours signify degrees of fat left in the milk. With some of them, you might as well drink water.

Goodness. I don’t know that brand, but I assume the (blue) means the fat level? Does goat milk come in anything but full fat? When I was in grade school, a classmate could only drink goat milk and was horribly allergic to cow milk, among other things. I’ve never had goat milk, but I’ve been tempted…
