    Fried lamb brains, lovely! (Although I’d take sweetbreads for preference.) Babyfood, no 🙂

  2. I quite like brains, but not in a combination like that. Disgusting! Once I asked a butcher if he had any brains – his response was “If I had any brains I wouldn’t be a butcher!” Everyone laughed.

  3. Ugh, no! Really? I try to keep an open mind, but this one is quite a stretch!

  5. I think offal meat is awful. But I suppose a few of us unsuspecting children were fed this without our informed consent.

  8. It probably looked and tasted pretty disgusting, Barb. What next, liver lasagne? xx

    Because this awful sounding combination of lamb brains and macaroni was intended for children, do you think parents bought it thinking their children would be smarter? Poor little people!

    Is Devon some kind of Australian foodstuff?

    • I don’t even know if it still exists, Bert. It was gawdawful processed muck, disguised as meat. The thought makes my gorge rise. I hope it wasn’t ground up Devon folks! (Are you too young to have seen Soylent Green?)

  11. I am sure that there are many a pantry with cans like this lurking in a dark corner. Not us, eh Yvonne, as we have moved house. I threw away the barrels of salted pork and maggot biscuits before I moved 😉 ❤

  12. HA! No! 😀
    I definitely need more brains, but I’m sure inserting them via my mouth is not the way to go! 😉 😛 And the poor little lamb that lost his/her brains! 😮
    Great photo, Yvonne! 🙂
    HUGS!!! 🙂

  13. Almost as bad as our introduction to Devon and Vegemite back in 1956 after our arrival from Holland.

  14. Lamb’s brains would be okay – I’m heavily into offal – but macaroni? Yuk!

    • I remember when we first lived in Australia, I did private nursing for an old bloke, and had to cook lamb’s brains for him. It was a shock to this Canadian, for sure!

  16. I assume it’s some sort of baby food, and therefore I shall not be putting it on any list that I give to YKW!
    Anyway where have you been hiding? I’ve missed your pithy comments and insults;

    • I’ve been busy with this and that, and moping a bit, M’Lord. I need to get to Italy soon, before I get as old as you! So, within the next 12 months.

      How are you, you crusty old curmudgeon?
