Aw, thank you. I’m in Rome now, in a rather soulless part of the city for one week, then I move to Trastevere, which will be a bit more interesting, I think. I do miss Napoli!
Hi, Derrick. So do I! It’s a church built on a 4th century temple (of course). I went there on the last day to visit the catacombs, interesting way to get rid of our earthly remains.
I wonder what be on your menu tonight, and how the Chief Chef is settling in to her grand kitchen.
I know some of my ancestors came from Naples but your slide show being so familiar was a bit unusual. But then I remembered a movie I had seen a while ago “Passione. described as a look at the musical roots and traditions of Naples, Italy, as well as its influence on the rest of the world.
Director: John Turturro” He did a lot of filming of the music videos in some of the areas in the pictures. Although it didn’t get the best reviews I enjoyed it.
And of course I enjoyed your slide show.
We all need to venture out of our comfort zones. Grazie mille.
just wanted to comment on this: “Some people can’t, or don’t, venture outside their comfort zone, for varied reasons, I guess…”
I have noticed this a lot too – and wonder why – guess it is different for everyone eh?
It’s got such a long and deep history. I guess a lot of the south of Italy would be the same. I’m glad I ventured out of my safety zone! (For example, Dismal Swamp! 🙂 )
enjoyed all the pics – went thru the slideshow a few times

I kept being drawn back there, Giovanni.
Have you read Girt: an unauthorised history of Australia? I am enjoying it so much. It should be at your library.

I am girt by so much at the moment; by demands from my family et al, but when I have un-girt myself I will look up a copy.

Beauty, they do say is in the eye of the beholder,
Doesn’t do much for me; does that make me a Philistine or something?

I have genuinely enjoyed my time in Naples. the people have been warm and helpful, which is always a plus!
