What can I say? I sure am happy I decided to come here, although I can see many “Let’s get lost” occasions in my future.
Here is what my landlady left as a greeting. There are sfogliata in that parcel. Yum.
And, all I need to do is open the doors to the tiny balcony and there is the hubbub and colour of this ancient city. (I am grateful for double glazed windows, though.)
I may never return to Myrtleford!
Right, off to do some exploring.
Lovely pictures, Yvonne. Thanks for sharing. 🙂 — Suzanne

This is weird, we’ve just got back from Naples!
We were going to try to meet Karen & Mike, but let them down as we has underestimated how long it takes to get anywhere in Naples !

Oh, for goodness’ sakes! I wish I had known, we might have had a prosecco together. Where did you stay? What a city, eh?

“How are things Down Under There?” asked the actress.
“Warm and wet with lots of flies,” replied the Bishop.

It’s all a big jumble for me right now. Museums have free entry today, so I’m all in a dither trying to decide which one (or more) I’d like to visit, and my chances of being able to find them! I should do a Hansel and Gretel and drop little white pebbles, perhaps.

We can still be friends, but you may notice a touch of chilliness when I greet you. I’ll only kiss one cheek, not the other, for example.
Italy is not for everyone, but for those of us who are intelligent, discerning, beautiful, illustrious, it is paradise. That makes me wonder why I like it so much!

Surely you meant Borei not boor-i in, my wife may call me a pig of a man at times but that’s her prerogative, she’s kind ofstuck with me! D 😈 I don’t think Yvonne would put up with a bore for more than a second. Think about it! XD 🙄

I shall do that Julie. I can’t get over how friendly people seem to be, at least in this little section of the city.

are you traveling by yourself Yvonne or with friends…I’ve always found that most people are friendly whenever I travel abroad…especially if I’m out and about by myself or even out with my aunt…the most “un-friendly” was a security guard at the Berlin airport when I was obviously looking lost and asked, in my best German, if perhaps he spoke english and he curtly told me no and kept walking…
Overall however, I always find folks all over the world are more kind than not 🙂
Safe and happy travels my friend 🙂

Good morning, Julie. I hope you’re still peacefully in dreamland, though. I travel alone and love that. I do have friends who come and bist, often, and that’s good too. It’s fun to share places with good friends. 💕

Well for right now, you’re sharing this adventure with me…life is such right now that adventures are rather far off…so this latest journey of yours will have to suffice for me…for the time being —so soak it all in for me as well Yvonne 🙂

Love that you’re so excited and happy. It looks amazing, can only imagine what it feels like there. However, I’m thoroughly enjoying Myrtleford and surrounds, lol (time and place for everything 😊). I won’t tell Minxy what you said re not coming back….the hot air balloon offer stands 😉😂
So looking forward to seeing and reading more 😃💖😘

I can’t wipe the grin off my face, and I slept in today, the first time since I’ve been here. 🙂
Good luck with the hot balloon idea, Kim. Make sure Lily takes photo of you loading Minx in to the basket, and the paramedics who come to tend to you.
Hello to everyone in the little court. ❤

Yes, Napoli does that to one. See Naples first etc. Even so, I would not dismiss the delights of Australia. The Government in its infinite wisdom have just passed the tax cuts to businesses and will pay for it by cutting pensions and disability allowances.
Yes, Yvonne. Naples is fantastic. Say hello to her.

Well, you’ve just let the air out of my happiness balloon! It’s a good thing I’ve travelled while I could, it seems. Blasted pollies, taking care of their friends, eh? (Has Malcom been studying how The Donald does things in the USA???)
I just hollered your greetings out the window. 23 people answered back.

Bella Napoli, love that place. When Dan and I were there would go to the same little spot for coffee in the morning. One morning a man pulled up on his vespa, and walked in with his helmet on that covered his entire face. The proprietor poured him a glass of prosecco, the man flipped open the little trap door, grabbed the glass and swigged it down in one sip! Put a euro on the bar, said “ciao” and went on his merry way. We still laugh about that !
You certainly have a front row seat Yvonne! Enjoy it all. xx

We stayed down by the ferries and the castle. This was on Via dei Tribunali , so you can well imagine! One day we were there Italy was celebrating its 150 birthday as a country. What a beautiful crazy day that was! Travel memories are the best, aren’t they? xx

Amazing that you can just nick out into the balcony and all that hustle and bustle happens. Although it’s the wrong city, I see there’s a Romeo in both street photos – heading for your balcony – perhaps coming to view your laundry! Let Myrtleford suck eggs!

I think all the hustle and bustle was laid on just for me. I saw money changing hands.
Poor old Romeos, poor old Myrtleford.

I love it the noise, the street markets, the hustle, the food you will never run out of things to see or do. I know people either love it or hate it, if you have time take the free underground tour amazing what they did during WWII

I can’t believe how exceptional it is, Debra. Quite a contrast from Prato, for sure! Let me know when you get here so I can shout you a caffè or vino. (Not a spritz, they don’t seem to make them quite the way they do in the Veneto!)

What a nice landlady! Sigh, now I am pining for Naples. Btw the square with 2 bars with good nibbles (and where I started the fight :-)) is Piazza S. Domenico Maggiore. There was a good cake shop there too, I seem to remember. The place with the fantastic sfogliatelle frolle was Sfogliatelle Attanasio Pasticceria just off Piazza Garibaldi.
