I saw these in Pistoia, and now, of course, I’m kicking myself for not finding out more about them. What are the odds I shan’t be able to find them if I go back to this interesting city in Tuscany?

The lady Lyn mentioned (Miky), has answered my plea. She is on vacation just now, but will tell me more when she gets home to her reference books. Then I can tell you what she says! ❤

Oh, my…they are very intriguing! Now I’m wondering the thoughts behind their creations. But then, I am always curious and want to know what artists, songwriters, authors (especially poets) were thinking about when they created their works…and most don’t want to tell. They want us to find our own meaning and inspiration and “stories” in their pieces. 🙂
HUGS!!! 🙂

There has to be some reason why these bas-reliefs were made as they were. Imagine if you were the sculptor who was given the specifications for the second one. ❤

Thank you for running that to the ground, Bert. I’ll see if Miky can answer our questions.

Yay, I’ve left a request on her blog. I hope she can help satisfy our curiosity, Bert. (You were in my junk folder again, by the way.)

The lovely stemma at the top looks like a modified Chigi family crest, with the six mountains. I’m not sure what to make of the monkey holding a lily– usually the lily is associated with particular saints like Dominic. Do let us know what you find out!

I’ll follow the link Bert has given me, and hope Miky knows. There may be a sequel to this post!

The first looks a bit like a family crest (an interesting family!), but the lower part is a bit monster-like.

I wanna know too. So you’ll have to make a new post so we can all know.

I wish I had a Facebook friend from Pistoia, so I could ask him/her. I can’t contact the person Lyn (comment below) mentioned, unfortunately.

Isn’t that the way. I often look at photos and wish I’d found out more or written down what was said. Make sure you let us know when you find out.

Yvonne, Miky from passion4fashionpassion4food.com will know as she lives in Pistoia. She is a great ambassador for Pistoia. Tell her that I suggested. I caught up with Miky when I was there in May and she was wonderful.
