I completely understand. I had one of those days today. I saw so many things I could have snapped on my daily wander. I tried to console myself by admitting that it was just too cold…
Oh, that is a wonderful photo! Yes, Venice in the fog is quite spectacular. Hard to do justice, but you have done extremely well to capture the mood! It’s making me feel homesick now! 🙂
I love the combination of useful and beautiful.
It reminds me of what William Morris said: “Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or beautiful.”
What an absolutely gorgeous photo. I am passionate about Venice. You can never take enough photos once there, so much to see always.

Some days, I’ll think “Today, I’m not taking the camera”, but then there’s always something that begs to be recorded.

The last photo in this post is my absolute favourite. I hope it will be suitable for an enlarged print.

Venice is like that. If you fall in love with the city, it’s like an adolescent infatuation, with all those emotions and longings.

Bright pink is my favourite colour of cyclamen.

Surely not. This is undoubtedly a floor cloth with cyclamen.

Sheesh. You’re right. I hang my head in shame. Forgive me, humble but useful floor cloth.

Thanks, Margot! Are you still swanning around down south?

I cannot grow cyclamen, but they look like a flock of birds taking off when they’re in bloom. Gorgeous.

They’re lovely flowers, but, like you, I haven’t got the magic touch with them, except in Venice, where they seem to thrive in the winter (outdoors).

Exactly. They like a certain amount of cool.

Thank you, ma’am. I love your new avatar. Although that’s not the right term, I guess, since it’s a photo of you!

Well, it could accurately be called an avatar as it’s no longer accurate ….. The pink has all washed away now and just the silver remains…. 🙂

Oh!!! Silver threads among the pink!

I would spend time contemplating the cyclamen more than wiping the floor.

You just get busy and scrub that floor, Gerard!

“Hmm”, she said, looking around her kitchen.
What good advice to clean out stuff, eh?

Exactly. I tried to keep it in mind especially when I had to move….

So many people have cheery pots of cyclamen on their window ledges in Venice during the winter, Anneli.
