Today, it’s just a “What am I” photo. Let’s see who recognises this immediately. As usual, no prizes from the skinflint. (*)
(*) Skinflint: a niggardly person; miser
Origin of skinflint: from thieves’ slang: literally , one who would skin (that is, chip or abrade) a worn flint rather than pay for a new one
Was this something on your dashboard inside your vehicle on a frosty day?

No, I don’t have a car over here. It was on the roof of a parked car, “little old lady”. 🙂

What do you mean, I had half the answer?! I had ALL the answer! It was obviously something covered in hoar frost. The point of the quiz was to say what the something was. I demand a recount! 🙂

Jeez, you and some of these other losers sure like to moan and whinge. My quiz, my rules! (I love this power.)

Is whinge an Aussie word?

It sure is. I love it, and I love to whinge and moan (grumble, complain).

“Whingeing Poms” is a standard expression in Australia, Jane. How do you know when a planeload of Poms has arrived at Sydney Airport? Answer: Because the whining doesn’t stop when the engines are cut.

Oh man, I was going to play the game and then there was the answer right at the top of the list. Who am I kidding, I didn’t have a clue except for the icy coating which looks quite pretty.

I haven’t seen pretty stuff like for many years, et, probably when I house-sat in Canada in the winter.

I’ve only seen real snow and ice like that twice – once in Germany and once in Tasmania. It’s magical.

It does look like that, Derrick. Now, I’m going to tell you all what it is.

Sue and Bert each had half of the answer. It was mighty frosty yesterday morning, and this was the setting for a fully retracted car aerial, covered in hoar-frost.
Thanks for playing along. I don’t like puzzles, but it was fun to do this with you folks. 🙂

Well, I’ve never seen one. But I guess now I know so next time there’s a quiz about frozen car aerials, I’m a winner!

I’ll do it again, later in the week. Be ready!

Given whatever it is is clearly ice/snow coated how on earth am I supposed to know? Some of us are geographically weather disadvantaged, you know.

Stop whinging, MoSY.

It’s a slipper with a champagne cork creatively attached to it, left out in the frost 🙂

Non lo so.
Actually my first thought was a wood plane (for working on gondolas) that had been left outside to be covered with some type of frost but then again the shape was just not quite right.

I truly do not have a clue other than it looks pretty frosty. I’ve found some things in the back of my freezer that have the same coating.
