I find it amazing what things trigger songs in my vast musical memory. I suppose if I could afford that car, I wouldn’t care about its miles per gallon. It’s always nice to see an old car, especially if it’s still running.
Isn’t it a beauty? There was a vintage car rally in the neighbourhood, so we got to covet a number of well restored, well loved oldies.
I love that song and often sing it (where no one will hear me)….my other songs are “Big Spender” (from the show Sweet Charity) and “Santa Baby”.
All about buying me things. hmm.
right on, Yvonne!
I absolutely love Janis and this song.
This splendid old car looks like a Rolls Royce rather than a Mercedes ( no star on the car )
It’s a lovely old 1958 Rolls Royce, Michel. Janis Joplin sang a song titled “Oh lord won’t you buy me a Mercedes Benz”, and for some reason this car brought memories of that. (My mind wanders down strange corridors.) ❤
