Just a few images from that city of Renaissance art.
Well, that’s it for me, from Downtown Dismal Swamp. When next I drift into your life, I may be showing scenes with snow and a shivering cat. Cheers!

Too bad you can’t find a bar like our friend Pecora Nera but then again hopefully it won’t take months to get your internet hooked up.
I know I feel like my arm has been cut off ….or at least my life line to the world when I can’t connect.

This blogging community is an addiction, isn’t it? I panic when I lose my connection. I hope you get yours again soon!

I miss you too. I’m sure we all do. I thought it was something like this.
We look forward to your posts again soon.
What on earth did we do before the internet? Sadly….we didn’t know each other existed. The internet is a wonderful thing!

Love the fish display. When I was at Art College, I made a whole lot of maquettes for ironic ‘mantlepiece sculptures’. I though at the time I was being very avant garde.

I’m internet-less, aside from access at the local library, and it’s not fun! Maybe the big hookup will happen this Friday. I miss the world of blogdom and all of its inmates/ inspired contributors. 🙂

I saw a little truck like that in Rome, painted with all kinds of delectable goodies because it belonged to a baker:

It will make you hungry but if there is as you say a large Italian population where you are going you should also be able to get good bread as well as good coffee.

Is it a herring.? If so, where is the diced onion?

Let me look more closely. Perhaps those aren’t fish balls, as proposed by Cynthia, but packets of diced onion?

I have the impression to see ( and hear in mind ) a Renaissance marching band !! 🙂
In Florence art is everywhere in the street and people there, know how protect their architectural treasure .
Thanks for this peek, Yvonne

It was exactly that, Michel, in honour of Michelangelo. Yes, somehow, Florence seems to be able to protect its treasures.

Now that’s what I call pageantry — even Florentine minivans are decked out in gaudy livery!

I suppose if you ran a competition asking for the fish to be given a name you’d choose Derrick’s suggestion even before any other names were received. I would like to suggestion the fish be called Wanda – but then that’s probably too original…! 😀

Here’s that sore loser, again! I really, really hoped that “Miser” would emerge as the soggy winner from the goldfish bowl, of the Name That Mutt Pseudo Competition, but it was not to be. Better luck next time, loser.
