Bless me, followers

Bless me, for I have sinned. I have committed the deadly sin of a leg-pull.

My previous post about the  alleged requirement to wear a vest while in a gondola was inspired by seeing a film crew busy at work near the Accademia Bridge. The people in the vests are all actors.

This was just too good an opportunity to miss, and I had a feeling it would engender interesting comments.

Now I have to apologise, and do some penance, I suppose. Tonight, my spritz will be with Aperol, that will be a suitable punishment for me.

Here is a little peace offering for all of you.

  1. OK . I have about a million problems that need fixing here before I relate.
You have friends who know you as a REAL person. You have friends who know you as a CYBER bloody freak. But I don’t know you as anything but the babe who hits ‘like’ on my blog and also makes a comment or two. Are you an Aussie, or a Canadian or one of those with an Italian background or are you an Itie with personality disorder?
Don’t mess with my brain. I want to be in Italia and I can not be in Italia so don’t mess with my brain.

    • Hmm, should I put this bloke out of his misery, or keep him guessing?

Being such a sweetie, I’ll relent and tell you: I was born in Canada, moved to Australia with the husband and kids last century (gulp) and I have had many wonderful trips to Italy in the past 10 years.

Ooh, I’ve never been called a CYBER bloody freak before! I’m flattered, with this coming from you. 🙂

  2. I will never believe any of your posts again my friend. I shall now dream up a dastardly punishment for you Yvonne …… my making comments here for instance 😀 ❤

  3. Well, you sucked us all in, so you did a good job! Mind you, nothing would surprise me in these days of safety awareness.

  7. That’s not fair! It wasn’t even April 1!
The punishment does not fit the crime. I think it would be better to be forced to drink American beer instead of your spritz.
Actually….it was a good one, Yvonne. You are so bad and that’s why I love you.

    • American beer would definitely stop me from transgressing.

      • I thought the punishment would be appropriate.
I sent it to my Italian class yesterday….and then an email today entitled “the guilty party confesses”. This was how Josefina (my teacher) responded:
        Nooo, che ridere!
Sì, una punizione, altrimenti divertente, ci vuole! 🙂

Honestly, I do have to admire your creativity. Even better than when for April 1 a couple of years ago Italian Notebook had pictures of the dome of St. Peter’s being removed for cleaning…airlifted by a helicopter! At least he confessed at the end of the blog post.
You had a lot of us up in arms….and ready to take up arms.
I still want the job keeping track of Venice drowning deaths. Somebody has to do it and it might as well be me. It would give me lots of time for doing other things.

  9. Must we win to get that Aperol punishment? If so, give me time to commit the sin, and save me a seat on the patio, please.

  10. Indeed you did a good job with the life vest scoop! The scary thing is it was totally believable considering all the recent going-ons in Venice.

  11. You are absolved after your confession. Just don’t take the hair shirt off until Sunday.

  12. Andante

Having your spritz with Aperol would not be a punishment! Having no spritz would indeed be a punishment – for a glorious “wind-up”, we suggest a suitable penance and punishment would be: TWO spritz!
-Whilst wearing a bright pink inflated life-jacket, of course. In a gondola.

Now let's hear it from you, folks.
