The kids from Down Under have finally arrived, and I’ve been having fun showing them this rather nice city.
The flight from Abu Dhabi was a bit late, enough time for a macchiato and some people watching.
After some lunch at a very convenient bar, we hit the pavimento.
After lots of walking, we stopped at a small bar and joined the local young folks on the bridge for some wine. (We didn’t block the passage, I promise!)
They’re starting to look a little bit tired now.
Thank you for your like
As always Sheldon

It’s fun to share what I’ve discovered over the years, Andrew. Including places for spritz …

Good idea to take a glass of wine on this little “ponte” to comfort the traveller

Ciao, Michel. Then they had their very first spritz, and liked that, too.

I’m glad to hear they hit the ground running (and drinking wine)! Did Kirk already have the gondolier’s top or has he just bought it? 🙂

LOL! Today, we went past a couple of gondoliers, and they made some crack about his shirt! (It’s from Australia.)

I thought gondolier too but decided the stripes were too narrow.

Y,
They couldn’t ask for a better guide! Are you all going to meet up with Karen & Mike? If so give Karen a hug from me.

I hope you’ve let them get some sleep. As you know it’s always hard those first few days.
Have they been to Venice before? I hope they love it as much as you do (okay….I know that’s probably not possible but…).
I wish you all the best during your sojourn in the City of My Dreams.

It must have been wonderful to catch up. Drinking wine on a bridge in Venice or Florence is something we would like to look forward too. Any bridge in Venice really, not fussy.

Australia is so far away from everywhere (except Bali). They’ve done well.
I would never mind an aeroplane arriving late. I love people-watching in airports. Where are they going? Are they saying goodbye forever? How long has she been away? The stories are endless. 🙂

That reminds me of the movie Love Actually, Master of “Whatever” 🙂

That first day is a killer, isn’t it, Mary. They collapsed into bed, at about 10.
Oh, we saw that gorgeous Rachel Griffith today!
