Here comes gallimaufry again!

I guess everyone has a stash of unclassified photos/images in their keeping that just begs to be shared.

They knew I was coming, didn't they?

You really haven't got a soul!

You really are quite sole-less, aren’t you.

  1. I’m going to guess the bag of trash is hanging to keep cats / dogs / rats out of it before the collection men come around to cart it off. I know we have had trouble with something shredding open and spreading our trash when we have set it outside the rental flat we use in Venice.

Great pics Yvonne and the humorous snippets. We’re chilly down in SEQ but we have a nice fire going. 😉

    • Good morning, Julia, and thanks. I think it’s plenty cold down in your city this morning! Oscar will be reluctant to face the day.

Oh yes, far too cold for Oscar’s and my liking. Right now he’s curled up on the heater so he doesn’t seem to be particularly fussed by the cold right now hehehe.

Footballers (soccer players) generally wear the shoes of the brand that is willing to pay them the most money to wear their shoes. They used to be called ‘football boots’. “When running along Blackpool’s beach, at 7 am, no matter the weather, Matthews wore shoes that contained lead, so that when he changed into his football boots, his feet felt light, giving himself the impression that he could run faster.” – Wiki

  6. Hi Yvonne 😀 I don’t think that’s a photo of team uniforms. I reckon it’s this week’s winning lottery numbers for all to see 😉 ❤

  7. Do you think maybe all of the family members are on the team and that’s why all the jersey’s were on the line? You know….with the cost of rent in Venice and all. And it looks like some opposing teams there too. Should make for heated dinner table conversation.

    Love them all of course!

    • I’d love to know the story behind them, Michelle. The same number appears in different coloured tops. Basketball is quite popular in Venice, there’s a stadium tucked in not far from the beginning of Via Garibaldi.

      • There were young people playing basketball on a court in the park right by Karen and Mike’s apartment on my first night last trip.
Yes, it was the variety of numbers and colors that led me to think different teams.
Although, I watched the World Cup match played by Italy this week and several of the players had different color shoes….on each foot and then others had completely different shoes from some of the other ones. Since I know very little about the game I couldn’t help but wonder if that designated the position they played. Then of course the goalies uniforms had nothing to do with what their teams were wearing. Yes, this non sports person watched the entire match at 9am on Canadian TV. Watched the US match too and will probably watch theirs on Tuesday. Soccer as we call it here is big in Seattle.

        • That area in Sant’ Elena is great for kids, with all the open space and grass.

Soccer is also popular in parts of Australia. We have so darn many different football codes, I don’t know how that all came about! 🙂

You may see the elegant family crest if you look carefully as you descend on Fondamenta San Giobbe.
