It wasn’t until I looked a little bit more carefully at this pair of shrines in Chioggia that I saw that one of them had an eccentric touch.
This looks like a very interesting pair of shrines
Still no great surprises that I can see
Hey, what is that in the lower left hand corner?
Is it Saint Michael?

In the UK, St Michael is the patron saint of underwear.
Only in the UK, perhaps, Bert!
And of course not only are we members of the “Bad Crowd” but we’re probably going to Hell (or at least Purgatory) for all of our references to St Mickey.
As they say, you’ll have good company in one of those places, Michelle. 🙂
Yup, I’ll be so busy greeting all my friends!
Not sure good old Mickey qualifies as a saint, but that’s cute.
Someone over on Chioggia has a good sense of humour, Darlene.
Viva la Mickey!!
Evviva, St Mickey!
Love St. Mickey and we were all in that camp to begin with.
Go seek him out next time, Michelle. (He’d be your patron saint, wouldn’t he?)
I think he would make the perfect patron saint. Especially in his early days as “Steamboat Willie”….like the dancing.
Thanks for all of your astute and/or amusing comments. You will each know which camp you fall into! 🙂
St. Mickey must bring lots of smiles from those who are observant enough to recognize his addition to the shrine.
I would guess the saints are Fortunato and Felice, the patron saints of Chioggia. An excellent find, Yvonne!
Who are the two camp saints anyway?
You can imagine St. Mickey fighting the dragon devil!
Isn’t St. Michael the patron saint of missing digits?
We saw this in Chioggia too! St. Mickey!!!!
